Aldrin is the Head of Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills’ Melbourne office as well as its Projects and Infrastructure practice.
Aldrin has almost 25 years of Australian taxation experience. He is the lead taxation advisor to several multinational and Australian listed entities and has advised on a wide variety of significant transactions, including a number of recent multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects. Aldrin applies his unique and extensive experience to advise clients at all stages of a transaction's life-cycle – from developing the most suitable structure for a project through to the due diligence and legal documentation phase to the post-acquisition integration.
In addition to his tax advisory work, Aldrin’s practice includes representing clients in respect of tax investigations and disputes. Aldrin has represented clients at all stages of this process: from responding to Australian Taxation Office reviews up to and including representing clients in the High Court of Australia. Aldrin has been recognised as one of Australia’s leading tax controversy advisors by the International Tax Review.
Aldrin holds Bachelor of Laws and Commerce degrees (with Honours), as well as a Master of Taxation from the University of Melbourne. He is admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court Victoria and the High Court of Australia, is an associate Chartered Accountant with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and is a Fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia. He is also a Senior Fellow and lecturer in the Master of Taxation program at University of Melbourne Law School.
